I know that this is not really a great “Friday Favorite.” I mean, obviously it’s nice to have access to the internet when you want it. But this week…this week I have struggled to make a connection to any of the surrounding beach houses that did have wireless routers. It’s been a pain.
I gotta say, it’s made me appreciate the ease of access we’ve come to expect these days. This week, I haven’t been able to tweet often, my blog has been a product of late night scrambling, and I will not be surprised if I have had half the hits I normally get during a normal week. Yesterday, I wrote out my post in Word before taking the time to get online. Tom suggested I put it in notepad due to Word’s weird formatting when copy-pasted online. So I copied it from Word to Notepad to LoLa. The spacing was still messed up.
Even this Friday Favorite post is a result of not wanting to risk taking too long and losing access. So I’m putting up something short, with the promise that next week will be better. Better spacing to look at, better content, better pictures than a scary looking girl looking at a …bear?…I think it’s a bear, not a fox….bear in a business suit. A picture I found on a myspace page when I googled images for “no internet connection.” (To be fair, this one was way more entertaining than most images that came up. Thanks “noconnection315” on myspace!)
In conclusion, I don’t regret spending a week at the beach without internet access, because…well, it was a week at the beach. I love the beach. And I have a shark story for next week. I hate sharks. But still, I will be glad to get home to my router. Yes, I just said that. No, I’m not the one in my marriage who graduated from Georgia Tech. Yes, my husband’s geekiness is rubbing off on me. No, I’m not really bothered by it. Yes, I will quit starting every sentence with Yes or No.
Until Monday. With easy internet access.
