Sunlight and Gas Stations

The other day, I was driving home from work and saw this strange bit of rainbow in the clouds. Just a little dot of it.

See it?

Well, I thought it was so strange and kinda cool. I took the next exit, parked, and got out to take a picture of it. Then I looked at the way the sun was hitting the trees.

And the way the light hit the grass.

And I thought it was a gorgeous January afternoon.

Even though my fingers were freezing as I took the pictures.

And even though people were staring at me as they drove by.

But I guess most people don’t stop to take pictures of the shrubbery outside of a gas station.

Can’t blame ’em if they think it’s a little odd.

Still…it was worth being seen as a crazy lady to document the beauty around me.

  1. 🙂 You are describing one of my favorite pasttimes. 🙂 I know all the bits of road on Peachtree Industrial and Pleasant Hill that have the best views for the sunsets because of it! 🙂

Haven’t the sunsets been amazing lately?

  2. I’m famous for pulling over to take a picture of the sun setting, etc… And if the kids are with me and they hear me sigh, they just look at me and say, “mom, just keep going please.” These kids are always in a rush to go somewhere and they miss so much. Trying to teach them to be still and appreciate God’s beauty.

    1. Huh! How did y’all come up with that name? I don’t see them often enough to think about naming them, but now I will think of them this way!
